Do You Believe that Christ Obtained Immortality?

Answer:

Yes, definitely. In fact, Christ is the only one of our race who has received immortality at the present time. We read that He is “the King of Kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality” (1 Tim. 6:15-16).

We would also like to point out that Jesus did indeed obtain immortality, He was not born with it. At the time He was preaching, it was recorded that “the Holy Spirit was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified” (John 7:39). He was not glorified until He ascended to heaven and appeared in His Father’s presence, an honor which He personally requested in His prayer (John 17:5). The apostle Peter on the day of Pentecost pointed to the power of the Holy Spirit as sure evidence that Jesus had now been exalted at the right hand of God. “This Jesus … being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear” (Acts 2:32-33).
