Millennial Government

Millennium Superworld

Chapter 5: Who Will Be There?

“And the kingdom and dominion
and the greatness of the kingdom
under the whole heaven,
shall be given to the people
of the saints of the most High,
whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and all dominions shall serve and obey him”
—Daniel 7:27.
“He shall have dominion also
from sea to sea, and from the river
unto the ends of the earth.
“In his days shall the righteous flourish;
and abundance of peace
so long as the moon endureth”
—Psalm 72;8, 7
“Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom
and they dominion
endureth throughout all generations”
—Psalm 145:13

We have identified the people who will live during the Millennium. Let us now turn our minds to what God has revealed about the plan of government which Jesus and His saints will inaugurate.

Throughout history, many different types of government have been tried, and each has proven faulty for one reason or another. Even democracy, with its plan of government “of the people, by the people, for the people” falls far short of perfection. If democracy means rule by the majority and the majority do not want what is for the general good, who can overrule them?

The new government of Christ and His saints will be the first ideal government in earth’s history. What type will it be? It will be a dictatorship, albeit a dictatorship far different from any yet seen on this planet. Supreme power will be vested in one competent Ruler and His carefully chosen assistants. Jesus Christ will be at the head of the government as King and Lord of all. And He will share His authority and responsibility with fully qualified co-rulers, themselves “kings” and “lords,” for Jesus will be “King of kings and Lord of lords” (Rev. 19:19; 17:14; Rev. 3:21).
